I mainly work with academic researchers, biotech, and pharmaceutical clients to deliver a range of formats from 2D illustrations to 3D animations.
About
I'm Josh and I started Golgi Graphics so that I could combine my passions for science and visualisation.
I was previously in research and completed a PhD in Computational Developmental Biology at the University of Manchester in the UK. During that time I found that visualising complex results was not only fun for me, but also genuinely useful for engaging other scientists. I eventually realised that science illustrators and animators exist, and one career pivot later, I'm now doing it full time as a freelancer.
What I enjoy most about my work is collaborating with brilliant researchers and getting to learn about niche science I might never have encountered otherwise. In turn it’s just as rewarding to see the reactions to the designs I put my very best into.
